WEEK 14 - MY LAST WEEK AT SKSTB (4 DECEMBER - 8 DECEMBER)

    This week is the last week of my practicum. For this week, I just spent my day teaching 6 Kreatif for one day only because like always there is so much activity going on in this school. So I need to postpone my class but for this week I can't postpone it again since it was my last week here ;( My heart felt so heavy to leave the school. The environment of this school is so comfortable with such friendly teachers who consider me as their own family member. I felt so grateful for the experience I got in this school. I would like to say an experience I will never forget.

    On my last day, I was invited to speak for the last time in front of the teacher and the pupils after Yassin's recitation. In that speech, I am grateful to the teachers who gave me words of encouragement and advice during my time at this school, especially my mentor Kak Liza. I am very grateful to be surrounded by good people during my time at this school. I also thank my students for accepting me as their teacher for three months at SK Sungai Tua Baharu. Lastly, I'm so touched that my pupils prepared me a small surprise on my last day here with a small party. We had a chit-chat and took photos for the last time. Thank you 6 Kreatif and 5 Cekal. Teacher loves you all!!!

    For today's analysis, I will be summing up everything from the first week up to this point. I have learned a lot from my time here as a practicum teacher. The experience is invaluable for it has made me better in teaching, managing, and overall soft skills. My time here has pointed out my strengths and flaws. I have discovered that my strength lies in my will and drive to teach students. I never once felt like I did not want to teach them even though it is very hard to have a lesson with 6 Kreatif. With that being said, every lesson that I carried was genuine. Every lesson, material, and method was all for the sake of learning for them to improve in English and help them understand the importance of mastering this language.

    The weakness that I had from week 1 has always been the same which is my voice projection while teaching. I have a very soft and slow voice so I really need to go to my limit when teaching. I really need to do something with this matter since it will affect the lesson if my pupils can't hear me well. I got a suggestion from my mentor to use a small microphone while teaching so that my pupils can hear my voice well in the lesson. I will take this suggestion to improve my teaching in the future.

    I will take this whole experience from this practicum as my opportunity to grow as a person and strive to become a better teacher in the future. It certainly has been useful to know the behind-the-scenes of the school from planning to teaching. Knowing that teachers too make mistakes, I have more empathy now toward every staff in the school system. Thankyou SK Sungai Tua Baharu!

WEEK 5 - FLU FLU PLEASE GO AWAY! (2 OCTOBER - 6 OCTOBER 2023)

     After the camping ended, I had a fever and flu for the whole week. I was very sick the whole week but I managed to get through the week without sick leave. Actually, I have a story behind it, I went to the clinic because it kept getting worse day by day but the doctor forgot to give me the MC letter. I only survive with the medicine given by the doctor without any rest.       Week 5 also has so many events going on. On Monday morning, there is the launching of the Science Month ceremony and assembly while in the evening, I need to attend sports training for the second time as an assistant head of the sports house. On Tuesday, nothing is going on and I just have a PJ class with 5 Cekal since I don't have a class with 6 Kreatif on Tuesday. I'm so tired of handling 5 Cekal with their chaotic behavior. WEEK 2 - INDEPENDENCE MONTH ACTIVITY’S WEEK (11 SEPTEMBER - 15 SEPTEMBER 2023)

     In my second week, SK Sungai Tua Baharu started the new week with an assembly on Monday morning. After the assembly was over, I went to 6 Kreatif because my class with them was right after the assembly ended. I conducted the class with Topic 4 which is Cool Jobs because my lovely 6 Kreatif pupils said that they are still learning the topic. 6 Kreatif are so loud and talkative. I almost lost my voice trying my best to control the class. I realized that I'm still bad at controlling the class. I really need to work on class control and voice projection. After the class ended, I asked my practicum partner (Ainun Sofeya) to have breakfast at the canteen with me because I'm so hungryyyy. Before school ended, 2 pupils from 6 Kreatif approached me at my table and asked me if I could help them prepare for their pentomin’s competition since they didn't have a teacher to guide them.
